The life of Mr.Navin M Raheja, is the shining example of today’s emerging India. It is the success story of a middle-class boy who, without much resources, built a legacy of business environment &CSR and took it to the highest global standards. And his journey continues.

Mr. Raheja’s stewardship and dedication of his team has led to Raheja Developers, India’s top real estate company bagging 38 prestigious national and international awards during past two years alone. In a thumping addition to Mr. Raheja’s glorious strings of successes, the Euromoney International Poll of 2011 judged Raheja Developers as ``The Best Developer In India’’. At present, the worth of Raheja Developers projects at hand exceeds` 100 billion.

But success did not come easy to Mr. Raheja. In fact, Mr. Raheja’s guiding principle remains “Don’t chase money, do good job and move on, money will chase you.” Mr. Raheja’s recent appointment as president of National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) - the apex body of real-estate developers in India- is the latest milestone of his illustrious career. He is also the chairman of the Real Estate Council of ASSOCHAM as well as executive member of FICCI and CII, the top three chambers of commerce in India.

An almost debt-free company with the highest customer satisfaction index, Raheja Developers is professionally managed by a qualified Board of Directors. The company is working in diverse segments such as group housing projects, commercial complexes, malls, multiplexes, hotels, SEZs, EWS mass housing, slum rehabilitation and development of townships.

Born into a middle-class family of late Mr. Maheshwar Nath Raheja, a Government officer on transferable jobs, and Mrs. Krishna Raheja (a home-maker). Navin Raheja studied in various Government schools in the cities of Punjab and Haryana. With virtually no facility, a young Navin often had to study in the light of a kerosene lamp/street lights - but this did not deter him from remaining topper throughout, from class onwards. He topped the state’s school board examinations. The consequent national scholarships he received on account of his academic brilliance paved for his free education till his Masters in Business Economics from Delhi University as also the post-graduation diploma in journalism.

Mr. Raheja’s mother, late Mrs. Krishna Raheja, has been the biggest inspiration for him. Through her, he imbibed the values of truthfulness, hard-work, dedication and commitment to the country and humanity. Mrs.Raheja herself was a noted Vedic scholar who was conferred with `Yagyabrahman’.

Apart from his work, Mr. Raheja is passionate about wildlife and nature. In his spare times, he can often be sighted at least once a month in national parks and sanctuaries- both in India and abroad. At times, he accompanies the dedicated team of Raheja Productions which is set up to create awareness about conservation of forest and wildlife. He had been a member of the Steering Committee of the Project Tiger, under the Ministry of Environment and Forests. Deeply anguished over the dwindling wildlife of India, Mr. Raheja in the late 90s filed public interest litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court which passed several path-breaking verdicts leading to turn around of India’s Tiger population.

Despite his prolific schedule, Mr. Raheja takes time out to write magazine and newspaper articles on wildlife and nature, and even take up the animal right issues on television channels. People at time wonder if he is the same man who is read almost daily in the media as India’s top developer!

Mr. Raheja is also involved in several CSR initiatives which support free education, nutrition, clothing & medical care to hundreds of underprivileged children.

Mr. Raheja says he has no intentions of hanging up his boots- ever. He works tirelessly for over 17 hours every day, and is the guiding force behind the team Raheja.

Nayan Raheja is a 2nd generation entrepreneur working as executive director in Raheja Developers Ltd. since 2006. He is an architecture graduate from School of Planning and Architecture and has done schooling from DPS, RKP.

He has been at the forefront of leading the company into the new era contributing significantly to better systems, processes and better product delivery keeping the needs of the modern consumer in mind. He is a member of the Indian institute of architects and a member of the Assocham Youth Leaders community.

He is also one of the directors in Raheja Productions, which is a production house making documentaries and films in the field of wildlife and environment. He is personally a keen wildlife photographer and has been contributing significantly to the cause of tiger conservation whereas his photos and articles have been published across all leading journals of India. He keeps traveling extensively to wildlife parks across the world and writes extensively on the current conditions of wildlife and forest management.

He is presently also the director at Raheja showbiz, his new venture which is producing a bollywood feature film based on the issues of the youth in the country. He is also a keen musician with a degree from Delhi school of music in classical guitar playing while he has also received Hindustani classical vocal training and has performed at concerts at colleges and fests.

Mr. Karthik Ramachandran has over 18 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles on various important positions in several companies.Before joining Raheja, he was Head of Operations, Strategies and International Development for DAMAC‐Dubai (UAE). He has served PWC, KPMG, Ericson and has also served as a Board Member in a reputed Insurance Co. His experience is enhanced by his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Management (MBA) from Symbiosis Centre for Management.

Mr. Manoj Goyal , a qualified company secretary having over 12 years of experience in the field of Secretarial, legal and Strategic Corporate planning. He has previously worked with Usha Martin and Spirotech Heat Exchangers. He has been associated with Raheja Group for the last 8 years and has worked in various domains has been promoted as Director on Board.

Dr. M.Yusuf Khan is Chairman of the Development Banking Advisory Council at Yes Bank Ltd. The council augments key developmental banking projects in the 'public-private partnership' area for the growth of state level socio-economic infrastructure being pursued by Yes Bank along with various state governments.

Dr. Khan has had a distinguished career spanning over a decade in banking and was instrumental in the rapid growth of Jammu and Kashmir Bank during his chairmanship between 1996 and 2005. During his time as Chairman, the turnover of the bank went from a mere $890 million to $7.3 billion and the NPA came down from a double digit figure to just 1.41%. When he left, about 95% of the branches of the bank had been computerized and were offering Internet Banking facility to its customers for the first time.

Between 1975 and 1996, Dr. Khan worked in senior management positions in several Government Organizations in Kashmir such as Kashmir Small Scale Industries Corporation (SICOP), J&K State Industrial Development Corporation, J&K Tourism Development Corporation and J&K Agro Industries Development Corporation. He was also appointed as a Senior Advisor at the New York-based investment group Berenson and Company in 2005 where he supervises Berenson and Company’s operations in India.

Dr. Khan is a nominated member of the Chattisgarh Economic Advisory; Government of India, Member of the Banking and Financial Institutions Committee of FICCI and Member of the Managing Committee of Indian Banking Association. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Bharat Hotels and Zee Telefilms. Dr. Khan received Gaurav Samman (Best Banker of the year-2001) Award from Union Home Minister L K Advani for his meritorious services in the field of Banking. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards like "Udyog Rattan" award, "Pride of India & IMM" award, for excellence as top professional manager, and "Excellence Award" by Institute of Economic Studies among several others.

He is a science graduate from the University of Kashmir and has a Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Management (PHD) from Burkes University in UK.

A graduate from St Stephen’s College in Delhi Zubair started his career in Voltas India Limited. In September the same year, Zubair left Voltas to join Unilever as a Management Trainee. After handling positions of increasing responsibility in the Middle East Region he was appointed Sales Operations Manager, Middle East Region based out of Bristol, UK in 1990 and consequently Regional Manager, Dubai, UAE in 1992.

Zubair then joined the Gillette Middle East operation as Sales Director in Dubai, with responsibility for all the Gillette product categories. In recognition of his achievements in the Middle East and the leadership competencies demonstrated by Zubair in the areas of strategic planning, building a successful team, strategic relationship building and driving results, he was promoted and posted to Bangalore in India as Managing Director, to head a Gillette acquisition in India: Wiltech India Limited. This was a blade and razors company set up in technical collaboration with Wilkinson Sword U.K. After a two and half year assignment as head of Wikinson, Zubair was promoted to take charge as the Managing Director of Indian Shaving Products (ISP) which was the flagship company of Gillette in India where he managed to successfully merge the two Blades and Razors companies into one, leading to the formation of Gillette India Ltd. The successful completion of this merger resulted in Zubair being promoted to the position of Regional General Manager, South Asia HUB. The biggest challenge in this role was to put the domestic (India) business on a profitable growth path which he did with preparing and executing a focused 3 year strategic marketing plan for Gillette, India which was initiated in 2002 and by 2005 gave Gillette clear value leadership in 3 of the 4 product categories it competes in India. Presently, he is working with GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited as Managing Director effective December, 2006.

Mr.Yogesh Raheja joined Raheja Developers Limited in 2002 as an Architect. He holds a Bachelors degree in Architecture from School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Delhi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) from Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon. Member of Council of Architecture, India he has been associated with several projects where he promoted and successfully completed projects covering millions of square feet. He is involved grossly with Architectural design; town planning, research and experimentation with construction & infrastructure technologies for sustainable development. He strongly believes that perfection in any building design and workmanship comes only when there is perfection in the planning and decision making. Unless and until an architect doesn’t have the synchronization of both these, he cannot achieve the best in the World.

Yogesh Raheja belongs to the second generation of entrepreneurs and enjoys interest in Renewable energy infrastructure projects as well. Yogesh Raheja invests any extra time in rallying and has won various accolades in the same.
